OnePlus has a new smartphone in the works that is supposedly a variant of its flagship OnePlus 3.
Dubbed the OnePlus 3T Smartphone, the coming smartphone from the company is rumored to be quite a powerhouse and will tout top-end specs.
The latest buzz comes courtesy of Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site, where a tipster by the handle Reviewer_Well claims that the assumed OnePlus 3T will house the next-gen Snapdragon 821 processor, 6 GB of RAM and a primary camera that boasts Sony’s IMX398 sensor.
What Will The IMX398 Sensor Lead To The Table
The IMX398 sensor is touted by the newly launched Oppo R9s and the Oppo R9 Plus device. It boasts an f/1.7 aperture and comes with dual-core autofocus, which is allegedly way more accurate and faster than the traditional phase-detection autofocus.
If the latest rumor is true, then the OnePlus 3T would permit users to capture moving objects at greater ease courtesy of the Sony sensor.
This is not the first time that buzz of OnePlus working on a mysterious handset called the OnePlus 3T have emerged online. A few days ago, the OnePlus 3T – considered to be the rumored OnePlus 3S or OnePlus 3 Plus- was spotted online on Weibo. The account that unexpectedly revealed the existence of the OnePlus 3T apparently belonged to a OnePlus designer. The creator posted on Weibo using a device named OnePlus 3T, which fueled speculation that the Chinese company had a new handset in the pipeline.
Beginning in October, the China Compulsory Certification or 3C apparently gave the green signal to a OnePlus device that showed the model number A301. The OnePlus 3T could possibly be the rumored OnePlus 3 Plus or OnePlus 3s or a new device collectively. It is suggested that the T in its name could signify Turbo, which points to a speed boost for the next-gen OnePlus device.
OnePlus 3T Smartphone Specs And Pricing Rumors
Notable leaker Evan Blass who goes by the Twitter handle @evleaks reported that the OnePlus 3T could retail for $80 more than the OnePlus 3, which means that the handset will be priced around the $479 mark.
Earlier rumors have pointed to a 5.5-inch Full HD screen for the OnePlus 3T Smartphone. The current news also confirms the previously rumored Snapdragon 821 processor on the handset, as well as 6 GB of RAM. The device is also expected to sport a 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8-nmegapixel selfie snapper.
The OnePlus handset will probably support 4G VoLTE, house a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and a 3,000 mAh battery (with Dash Charge in tow). It will appear with 64 GB storage. The handset is also expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The definite release window for the OnePlus 3T Smartphone is not known but reports hint at a mid-2017 launch.
