Game developer Niantic did not talk about how much money Pokemon Go raked in from its microtransactions. But a report declared that it raked in a massive $600 million in just 90 days. No other mobile game has earned that much money, that fast, as stated by the report.
According to this report by App Annie acquired by VentureBeat, Pokemon Go was single fastest mobile game to reach $600 million in revenues. Despite the fact that its growth has slowed down the last few of weeks, it’s still the most successful mobile game to date. During its third-quarter market index, App Annie got that Niantic Labs generated over $600 million in revenue from July until the end of September. This set the record in intervals of time it took for any mobile game to get to that amount.
The Numbers Speak Itself for Pokemon Go
So, it reached its origin in three months. Compared to Candy Crush Saga which took over 200 days to hit $600 million, this feat is quite remarkable. Consequently, Puzzle & Dragons took over 400 days, and Clash of Clans more than 500 days. App Annie also noticed that the total time spent in Pokemon Go was almost as much as the next 19 games all place together. Pokemon Go got 45 percent of the time spent in Android games during the third quarter, as compared to 55 percent for the following 19 games.
The marker researcher said that the most impressive thing about this was the game’s ability to turn a heavy amount of a player’s non-mobile time to mobile time- singlehandedly. It wasn’t hiring time from other apps or games. What it’s preparing is its augmented reality gameplay and the iconic brand was enough to satisfy gamers to give more time on their mobile gadgets. Despite its decline in popularity during the third month, Pokemon Go still has the largest amount of time spent in-app compared to its competitors.
